Winter Market Heats Up!

Winter is upon us and typically it’s the time of year that we start to see things slow a little in the market as a lot of people go into hibernation mode and others head for warmer weather up north!

 NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH THIS YEAR!

Buyer’s certainly aren’t seasonal and we have seen continued strengthening in the market and competition amongst buyers heating up due to the tightening of listings coming to market.  The supply versus demand factor is kicking things along nicely for sellers.  We are still seeing a huge amount of interest from buyers in all categories, from first home buyers, families upsizing and still very strong activity from investors both locally and from the east coast.

The forecast from a lot of media sources are suggesting that the latter part of the year could be challenging as there are a lot of fixed loan periods coming to an end which could create a change in the market.  Whilst this could be the case for some major cities on the east coast with higher average sale prices and therefore higher mortgage levels, I feel that our market locally is still very well positioned due to better affordability.

Of course time will tell, but we can only work with the market we are in right now, and what that is is looking very healthy.
